S J (STEVE) KOCH
LAAM VICE PRESIDENT OF AFRICAN OPERATIONS &
GMSA PRESIDENT & MANAGING DIRECTOR

Stevan (Steve) J. Koch was appointed as Latin America, Africa, Middle East (LAAM) Vice President of African Operations and President and Managing Director of GM South Africa on 1 July 2007.

He was born on September 14,1951 in Saginaw Michigan, he joined what was then called Saginaw Steering Gear Division on June 16, 1969 as a General Motors Institute cooperative student, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Administration in 1974. At that time, he was awarded a GM Fellowship and received his master’s degree in Business Administration from Harvard University in 1976.

In 1984, he was appointed Senior Administrator of Component Planning at the Corporate Marketing and Product Planning Staff in Detroit. From 1984 to 1988 Koch served in several capacities including Manager of Assembly Capacity Planning and Manager of Short Term Market Analysis and Scheduling. In 1988, he was promoted to Director of North American Commercial Vehicle Planning, a position which he held until 1990 when he was appointed President and Managing Director of GM Zaire.

In 1991, Koch returned to Detroit as General Director of Sales and Marketing for Africa within the Latin America, Africa and Middle East Operations (LAAM) group. In 1992, he was appointed Manager of the newly formed Service Parts Business Unit at GM do Brazil and was transferred to São Paulo. In 1994 he become Director of the After Sales Operations for GMB, and in 1995, he was promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing for GMB. In January 1997 Koch was appointed Executive Director, Sales and Marketing for LAAM. On September 1, 2000 he was appointed VP LAAM and Regional Director, Africa and Middle East Operations headquartered in Cairo, Egypt.

GMSA VICE PRESIDENT & CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Joined the company in November 2005 as Risk Manager. Effective March 2007 appointed to Board of Directors as Director of Finance. Anil’s previous experience includes Vice President- Finance at GM India, Head of Financial Planning at Nestle’ India. Holds a Honours Degree in Economics and a Masters Degree in Business Finance.

GMSA VICE PRESIDENT OF GLOBAL PURCHASING & SUPPLY CHAIN

Joined the company in May 1992, initially within Sales and Marketing. Appointed Strategic Planning Manager in May 1993. Effective June 1995 was appointed to Delta Board of Directors as Director of Strategic Planning and Information Technology. Holds M.Comm. Degree and MBA (Rochester, New York). Previously employed with Deloitte Pim Goldby/Deloitte Haskins and Sells (13 years).

M (MALCOLM) GAULD
GMSA VICE PRESIDENT VEHICLE SALES & MARKETING

Joined the company in 1987 in the Sales and Marketing Division.

Appointed to the position of Director Sales and Marketing effective December 2002. Previously employed by Ford SA since 1978. Holds a B. Comm. Degree.

D R (DOUG) HARRISON
GMSA VICE PRESIDENT OF AFTERSALES

Joined the company in January 1971. Held position of Service Manager prior to his appointment to the Board of Directors in September 1992 as Director of Product Development and Planning. In 2002 he was appointed to in a newly created position as Directory of After Sales. Graduate of GMI Overseas Fellowship Programme (Flint, Michigan) and holds Diploma in Engineering.

C (CHRIS) THEXTON
GMSA VICE PRESIDENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES

Joined the company in 1990 as a Graduate In-Training and following this, worked in various positions within the Human Resources Department, initially specialising in Industrial Relations. He completed his degree in Economics in 1986 at the University of Cape Town, followed with a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources in 1987. In 1997 he was appointed to management level and four years later he was promoted to the position of General Manager Human Resources. In 2005 he took up a two year assignment in Miami, Florida at the company’s Latin America, Africa and the Middle East Regional Headquarters where his main responsibilities included Human Resources support for the regional manufacturing and information technology teams.

Chris Thexton was appointed as GM South Africa Vice President of Human Resources on 1 July 2007.

I A (IAN) NICHOLLS
GMSA VICE PRESIDENT OF PLANNING


Joined the company in 1990 as General Manager of Precision Exhaust Systems. Following this he was appointed as General Manager, Materials Management. This in turn led to a Board appointment as Director of Materials Management in December 1994. In 1999 Ian relocated to Adam Opel AG in Germany where he worked on a special assignment focusing on logistics and material procurement. In July 2001 he was appointed as Sales and Marketing Director, based in Johannesburg. In 2003 he moved to Port Elizabeth to assume responsibility for Vehicle Line Platform Management (recently renamed Planning). His main responsibilities as Planning Director for General Motors South Africa include - Business and strategic planning for the company - Portfolio planning and project management - Regional co-operation within General Motors to ensure a co-ordinated position on public policy issues - Vehicle export initiative Ian obtained a B Comm and CTA qualification from the University of Port Elizabeth in 1984, after which he qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte and Touche.

M G (MICHAEL) PEARTON
GMSA VICE PRESIDENT OF VEHICLE ASSEMBLY OPERATIONS

Joined the company in 1996 as Vehicle Plant Manager for the company's Opel operation located in Struandale. Following this in March 1999 he was appointed as General Manager, Vehicle Assembly Operations and in June 1999 appointed to the Board of Directors as Director, Vehicle Assembly Operations. Previously employed at Toyota from 1980 (12 years). Holds a Nat. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering & B.Sc Mech. Eng.

W (WENDLE) ROBERTS
GMSA VICE PRESIDENT OF ENGINEERING


Joined the company in 1979 as a trainee in the Engineering Department and has held various positions over the years. In 1995 he moved to Germany to serve as Liaison Manager. When he returned to South Africa three years later, he was appointed to the position of Manager, Engineering Support. In 2000 he worked in Planning as a Vehicle Line Manager and at the beginning of 2005 he was promoted to the position of Chief Engineer.
