2008 - The Chevrolet Spark 1,0 LT was announced the Best Budget Car (under R60 000) in the 2008 Car magazines inaugural car awards.
Received 4 awards in the 2008 Synovate Quality Awards for sales and service satisfaction in the automotive industry.
Notched up awards in thirteen of twenty three Synovate Quality Awards segments for 2008.
General Motors South Africa (GMSA) had recently been recognized by MERSETA as one of the Top 100 training companies in the nation.
The Opel Corsa utility was named top performing vehicle in the compact pickup segment in the J.D Power and Associates/CAR Magazine 2007 South Africa Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) Study
2007 -

The GM South Africa Foundation received the Impumelelo Platinum award
The GM South Africa Foundation received the American Chamber of Commerce’s (AMCHAM) Bronze “Star of Africa” Award.

GMSA was awarded first prize overall for Rental and Leasing at the SAVRALA manufacturer of the year awards. In addition to gold overall, the company was awarded bronze in the rental section and silver in the leasing section.

GM South Africa achieved 15 awards in the Synovate Quality Awards Survey.

GM South Africa received the following awards in the JD Power and Associates 2007 South Africa Initial Quality Study:

  • Opel Corsa Utility named top performing compact pickup in initial quality
  • Corsa Utility was named top pick up nameplate, followed by Isuzu KB.
  • Assembly Plants achieved second place for assembly of Isuzu KB and Opel Corsa Utility
  • Isuzu KB achieved second position in the one ton single cab segment and second in the one ton double cab segment.

The Opel Astra GTC 1.9 CDTI is nominated as a 2006 Car of the Year finalist.
GM South Africa Foundation’s Sakhasonke Village low income housing project wins the South African Housing Foundation national housing project of the year award.
